I am currently the head of the Accessories Jewellery Department of Hermès. I’m using Pointcarre since I began to create jewels with printed motives in 2003.
Pointcarre has been my partner for 8 years now, and during this time it helped me creating collections of prints for jewels. I’m able to create any designs and match my colors collections to my final product (enamel), so I can definitely relay on Pointcarre’ displays and print (color wise). This workflow is very convenient, as it is extremely to switch from Pointcarre to Illustrator and share files. In addition, the compatibility of Pointcarre allows me to work on Mac at home and PC at Hermès office. I welcome trainees regularly, and I prefer students from schools with Pointcarre training (Arts Decoratifs de Paris, Duperré…). |

Pointcarre has always been a crucial program for my department, creating all our prints, stripes, plaids and sweater graphs. It has always been a powerful program for its color reduction, repeat layouts capabilities while working seamless with Adobe Photoshop® and Adobe Illustrator® . With the Magic Cloth Weave program, you are able to create plaids and stripes with ease andspeed. The color chip function helps to provide clarity and instruction to our plaids and stripes that are sent out for production. All of the Pointcarre files are archived and often redesigned or recolored for upcoming seasons. My department could not function properly without using the Pointcarre software on a day to day basis. The service and support goes without saying,that it is truly the best.

Creating designs and Jacquard files on the computer has been an important step in our company Tissage de la Lys. I have contributed to thechoice of the software we use and I have to say that it has really beena success beyond our expectations.Since 1994, I have used Pointcarre everyday, to create jacquard fabrics from beginning the design to the final jacquard file.New Pointcarre releases have been a revolution for our work : the graphic tablet allows us to have a natural and precise hand. This user-friendliness can be clearly seen in our design style. Pointcarre optimizes our research and innovation.The Pointcarre team always solves our problems and makes very useful new developments in the software for our area to improve our technical and graphic processes. For example, for our customer J. PANSU, we work with the Picasso Foundation, to weave exclusively for them, tapestries and pillows.
With Pointcarre, I haven’t had any problems of opening archives from Mac to Windows, from the past releases to the most recent versions. For me, the best way to experience the software is just to use it ! |
